WRITER
I write short stories, long fiction, poetry, and prose. My writing is inspired by the natural environment and explores how people interact with the places around them. I am influenced by climate change and what we will lose as its impact grows. A commitment to human rights grounds my stories.
My writing has been widely published in magazines, journals, and anthologies. Recent publications include Bath Short Story Award 2024 Anthology, Paperboats Zine, The Outlier and Other Stories, Crannóg, The Storms, Fictive Dream, Northern Gravy, Postbox, Northwords Now, Pushing out the Boat, The Blue Nib and PENning.
I won first prize in the Ennis Book Club Festival short story competition in 2024, and was shortlisted for the Bath Short Story Award (2024), the Alpine Fellowship Writing Prize in 2023 and the Moniack Mhor/The Bridge Trust’s Emerging Writer Award in 2019. I have been shortlisted and longlisted for my flash fiction.
I have a background working in the voluntary and public sectors on my other passions – children’s human rights and supporting organisations to achieve change for children, young people, and families.
I live in Edinburgh, Scotland and go north and west whenever I can.
